MEET OUR SIRES
THE DRAGON KING
MANNIE We can’t say enough good things about (UKC) CH Chilbrook Dragon King, JH, CGCA, RN, RI, TKN, (Mannie) as a companion, competitor, and sire. In 2018 alone, he earned enough titles in hunt test, community canine, rally and trick competitions to be awarded an AKC Achiever dog certificate, all while maintaining his position as family dog and pack leader. Mannie displays the excellent conformation (a show champion sired by an AKC Grand Show Champion) necessary to performance events and producing healthy offspring. His first few litters included some really nice puppies that sold primarily as companions, but there were also at least 3 service dog prospects. Mannie has an outstanding work ethic and is smart, methodical and persistent. He’s also social and a great family dog. His pedigree includes service, show and field lines. Mannie has the smaller, stockier stature with the large head more common to the English type of Labrador. His smaller stance may be advantageous to first time breedings and hunters desiring a medium sized dog to pull into a boat. This smaller stature makes no comment about his heart, as he is a loving, loyal and engaged companion above all. At this point, his limiting performance factor is handler related, as I’m new to AKC sports. Mannie is training for his senior hunter and advanced rally and obedience titles.
RED CHEROKEE PHOENIX
RED Because everyone needs a “mini me,” or in this case an understudy, Debandles Cherokee Red Phoenix “Red,” is our next generation of stud-dog hopeful. Red is unlike any dog I’ve ever known, and I’ve been drawn to him ever since he was born in our basement nursery early in the summer of 2018. My original plan was to sell all the puppies in that litter (Saga X Chance) because, well, even though I have a decent sized kennel, with seven dogs I was pretty much over my limit already. He’s always been by turns thoughtful and serious, engaged and aloof, shy and gregarious—but never just like all the other puppies. He has a calm and generous temperament well suited for a family dog, but gets very serious when it’s time to work. He is persistent, learns quickly and has great conformation, size and striking fox red color. Red is in training for obedience and field events and watch for great things from this young dog!
